It was one of the few non-injury-plagued results shows on “So You Think You Can Dance” this season, but it also was chock full of filler. There were two very special musical guests, plus a performance by the cast of “Puma Drift Cat.” I understand that all of these things appeal to the “So You Think You Can Dance” audience, but I, personally, was reaching for the remote before I remembered I was watching live and couldn’t fast forward the madness. There also was plenty in the way of Nigel lecturing America, as well as one of the least suspenseful eliminations ever.
Look, Lauren is my favorite of the dancers left. She seems to be the favorite of all of the judges as well. She weds the technical proficiency the best dancers on the show have with a winning personality that might remind you of the baby-sitter you had when you were 8. She’s good at pretty much whatever the show throws at her, and she’s comfortable with all Cheap Puma, with her fellow contestants and all by herself. The second she was in the bottom three, there was no question that Jose (who has been barely scraping by for weeks now) and Billy (who deserved to make the finals over at least Adechike) were going to be going home.
Frankly, there was no way the judges were sending Lauren home, but there also was no way they were going into the final two weeks without any Puma Shoe, particularly when there are still one and arguably two (I don’t mind Robert as much as some fans) pretty lackluster male dancers left. Even with this late stumble, I’d still put Lauren at the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing unless she cracks under the pressure over the next two weeks (though she should be safe next week under the same “the-judges-will-want-a-girl-around” principle).
“I’ve done a lot of things in my life, but never this,” Paul McCartney said on Puma Speed Cat tonight. “This” was traveling to the White House, which he did last month to accept the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. A properly all-star concert was convened to befit the occasion, and while bits and pieces of the event have leaked out on YouTube since then, tonight the whole thing (or most of it) aired as part of PBS’ “In Performance at the White House” series. The show opened with some stirring words from President Obama. “It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly half a century since four lads from Liverpool landed on our shores and changed everything overnight,” he reflected.
Then it was time for a cavalcade of stars old and young to pay homage to the voluminous back catalog that earned McCartney this honor.High points were in abundance. Stevie Wonder’s super-tight “Puma Shoes Sale Can Work It Out” featured a mean harmonica solo, while Elvis Costello’s faithfully jaunty “Penny Lane” boasted an even nicer piccolo trumpet solo. Emmylou Harris shone on an acoustic “For No One.” Dave Grohl wore the night’s biggest grin as he tore through “Band on the Run.” Jack White’s tender “Mother Nature’s Son”/”That Would Be Something” medley captured something of McCartney’s starry-eyed charm.
Intermixed with these were some…not quite as highs. I’m not sure anyone other than Sasha and Malia Obama needed to hear the Jonas Brothers’ competent if cutesy “Drive My Car.” (In fairness, Puma Speed Cat Shoes and Wonder were visibly grooving during this performance.) Jerry Seinfeld’s random stand-up routine fell flat as he riffed from Beatles lyrics to stale “marriage, am I right?” shtick. Faith Hill’s “Long and Winding Road” was a bit schmaltzy for my taste.
The conflict brewing on True Blood took a disturbing but fascinating turn on “I Got a Right to Sing the Blues.” The Vampire King of Mississippi has greater ambitions than we could’ve realized, and everyone’s lives could hang on his success or failure. For now, however, Russell’s control only extends to a handful of the characters. Those in Puma Drift Cat have issues of their own that seem far removed from vampire politics for the time being. Jason, for example, was absolutely pitiful in this episode. He has been haunted ever since he shot Eggs, and his short-lived dream of becoming a cop seems doomed if he has to pass the written exam. He found a brief moment of happiness with Crystal, and even though we’ve seen him with many girls before, it was still cute how excited he was about getting to know her. Plus, that moment by the lake when he said, “I meant, um, don’t break my heart,” was just about the sweetest thing ever.
I don’t excuse him for trying to blackmail Andy into getting him a job at the police station, but it was still tough to see him so disappointed when he took flowers to Crystal’s house, only to have her pretend not to know him because she has a fiance. All signs point to her being a shifter (Jason’s comment about how warm she was, and the way she sniffed the Cheap Puma Shoes before running off into the woods), so now I just wonder what about her might be dangerous? Crystal’s fiance, charmer that he is, also upset the almost-happiness of Lafayette, interrupting his first date with Jesus by smashing up Lafayette’s fancy new car from Eric.
Even had that not ruined their night, Lafayette has serious trust issues, and all the barriers he has put up might just keep out someone as warm and kind as Jesus seems to be (of course, on this show, you never know–he might be evil and scheming). That’s no way to live, but I understand why Lafayette might be so hardened–I imagine that Puma Shoes For Women has left Bon Temps many times in his life but always returned found that the difficulties and persecution he faced in the outside world were worse than what he suffered from the country rednecks back home (that expression “the devil you know” comes to mind). Is it wrong that I’m proud of Jessica for how she handled that rude customer at Merlotte’s? If she is not going to drink TruBlood, I would rather her bite mean people. Plus, she only drank enough to feed herself, and then glamoured the woman into forgetting, while doing something nice for a frazzled and desperate Arlene. The little vampire is growing up
GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. – If you’ve been frustrated as you sit in traffic before trying to cross the Grand Island Bridge from Buffalo you’re not alone. It’s all because of construction to replace the bridge deck or floor. But some Puma Shoe are feeling the pinch as some people change their route to avoid the construction delays.Sitting in traffic is getting to be too much for some drivers trying to make it over the Grand Island Bridge from Buffalo, even for people who live on the island.”It’s a pain in the butt,” said Jennifer Bean, who visits friends on the island.”Would you go another way to avoid the bridge altogether?”
On Your Side’s Josh Boose asked Kim Staub, a Grand Island resident.”Absolutely, as a matter of fact, we were going to get off the island today and I noticed how bad it was so we turned around and we stayed here,” Staub replied.Tom Hurley, an Assistant Division Director with Cheap Puma State Thruway Authority says the reason for the slowdown is because drivers must transition from the new deck, or floor, on the bridge they put down, to the old one. That transition is basically a bump and slows you down.”I know if I have to do something, I’m going to go through the falls [Niagara Falls] because you sit in traffic for 45 minutes,” said Jovana Bichler.Bichler works at a car wash on Grand Island Boulevard. She says traffic there is sometimes non-existent, people obviously changing their route or their plans.”I won’t see cars come by at all,” Bichler said.
”I mean, you will but not as many as normal I guess.”One manager of a business who did not want to be on camera says the back-ups and construction have hurt his business in the last month or so, people just won’t even try to make it out here he said. The thruway authority expects all the new decks, or floor of the bridge, to be up by mid-September. And one expansion joint, basically another Puma Drift Cat on the middle of the bridge that slows traffic, will be fixed within a week. The whole bridge project started in the spring of last year. The thruway authority says the new decks will be in place by mid-September, but the entire project, which includes wiring cables and adding a sidewalk, won’t wrap up until the end of November.

Mark Wahlberg also dished out some delicious news about the future of Entourage on Comic Con.
